How do I know I will win?

How do I know I will win?

The papers say it all!
The papers say it all!

The simple (and honest) answer is that you don’t know.

No service can guarantee success all the time, but working to a 30 – 40% strike rate we have been able to secure long term success. I have been advising horses for over 20 years and that in itself is testament to the fact our methods are successful.

  • To maximise your profits you need to make sure you are staking the correct amounts and at the correct prices. We will only advise horses that we are confident about and that we feel represent value in the betting market. Knowing that we feel they are value at these prices is the simple reason why we usually advise you take  a recommended price.
  • We make no unrealistic claims as to how good our service is, nor do we guarantee that you will make X amount of money.

You should find this reassuring.

The average punter loses because they’re doing it for fun and don’t have time to spend 10/14 hours a day studying racehorses.  If you want to win it can pay to enlist the assistanceof a  proven Professional who knows what he’s doing, and has the experience to back it up.

Bob Rothman is that person.

If your tips are so good, why don’t you just bet them yourself?

“If your tips are so good why don’t you just bet them yourself?

Once Bob Rothman, our founder, had developed his skills – not to mention his network of paid informers – he discovered the biggest single problem faced by successful professional gamblers: Bookmakers refusing your bets when your winning. Word quickly got around and it became increasingly difficult to get a bet on. Successive bookmakers blacklisted him. The letters poured in saying “Good to have done business with you Bob, but we can’t afford to keep losing” (click to see copies of letters from companies like William Hill, Gus Carter, Mecca, City Index). That’s why we need people like  you – we supply the tips, you keep your winnings and you put a bit on for us.

More things you should know

Here are a few other things you should know about our betting service…

I rarely visit a racecourse. Instead I bet on the Internet or by phone, with the odd visit to the bookies. All selections are also unique to my service. I am NOT a relay agent.

Like I said before, I use a huge network of contacts to give me information. These informers can be anyone from Gallop Watchers to Bookies Spies, Private Handicappers and even other Fellow Professional Punters. Their information covers every angle from how the horse performed in its recent gallops to its optimum racing weight and anticpated riding tactics.  Combining this information with my unique private form and speed ratings indentifies powerful betting opportunities.

In return for their valuable information, I place bets for them. I guarantee them good prices, anonymity, and most important of all – they get paid. I’ve never met some of my contacts, but I speak to most each day and even pay some of them a regular salary.

I never follow what the papers say. But they can be useful for us.Why? Simple. The average punter may ignore my selection, and therefore I’ll get a very good price for it. The shocking truth is that so many horses aren’t even fit for their races, but the public keep backing them.

In more sensitive races, I like to keep my best tip under wraps until the last minute, so that the sudden betting doesn’t damage the starting price.

Bookies Ban Gambler With the Midas Touch Sunday Express

Bookies ban gambler with Midas touch

Bob Rothman banned by yet more bookies

The Sunday Express June 3 1990

It is a fantasy conjured up by everyone who has ever bet on a horse: to be the punter who empties the bookmakers’ satchels with such regularity that they eventually refuse to take your bets.

The bankruptcy court has provided the finishing line for many who have tried and failed – but professional gambler Bob Rothman claims that he is the man who has beaten the odds and skinned the bookies.

Now  Bob Rothman, who says that in one year alone he won £440,000, is reduced to gambling just £3,000 a week because book-makers will not take his bets.

“I have had four accounts with bookmakers closed and none of the others will let me have the size of bets I want on the horses I want to back”, he said at his opulent home in Wimbledon.

He produced a letter from Alan Marley, the managing director of bookmakers Bob Menzies, which said ” Dear Bob (Rothman), I am more than happy to confirm that the only reason your account was closed with us was because you had become a luxury we could not afford.”

The letter also said that cheques for £30,737.82 and £22,215.24 to settle his account were on their way.

And from City Index came the definite testimony for a professional punter: “, Bob Rothman you have today been awarded the ultimate accolade from City Index – namely that of having your account closed for being too clever for us.”

“May I say that its has been a great pleasure to trade with you in the past in that you have always been fair, courteous and correct. However I hate having to pay out week after week, after week, after week… May I wish you the very best in the future and say that I herewith submit your final cheque in the sum of £21,153.75, duty enclosed.”

Before they merged recently representatives of both Mecca and William Hill also wrote to him refusing further business.

If the figures he supplied to the Sunday Express are correct, Mr. Rothman must be one of the most successful race horse gamblers of all time.

He says that during his most successful year, he struck bets totaling about £2million and made £440,000 profit. As he would have also paid about £200,000 in betting tax, that makes this prowess even more incredible.

“In the first six months of my first year, I was down £35,000”, he says, “I had no other income and was about potless, as they say.”

“I borrowed £50,000 through a second mortgage on my house and by the same Christmas I had won back £35,000 I had lost.”

He says that his initial failure as a punter made him even more determined to get even with the bookies.

“I researched the market the way I did when I was setting up six accountancy and computer businesses. I subscribed to every conceivable tipping organisation in the country and invested in my own network of spies.”

“I must manage my gambling like a businessman, calculate value like an accountant and manage funds like a financial controller, be as disciplined soldier and as optimistic as a salesman.”

Punter’s trial run is a big winner

We put Mr. Rothman to a random test on Wednesday and Thursday, two racing days he described as “uninspiring”.

He selected three horses for the Wednesday evening meeting at Ripon Airedale, Colourist and Mahrah.

For our benefit he had imaginary bets of £1,000 each way on Airedale and £1,000 to win on Mahrah and Colourist which could have been backed at 2/1 and even money respectively, before racing.

Airedale was a non-runner, making the bet null and void – but the other two horses romped home – so if the bets had been real, he would have won £3,000 on the day.

On Thursday, there were two selections, both at Brighton on the afternoon – Shikari’s Son and Jawab.

The proposed bet was £400 to win on each. Shikari’s son won at 7/4, showing a profit of £700. Jawab came second in its race – so on the day £400 had been lost and £700 won.

The overall “profit” on the two days would have been £3,300.

I BASHED BOOKIES FOR £3M

SUPERPUNTER Bob Rothman terrorises British bookies from his mansion in leafy Surrey. (The Sun)

The former accountant has won £3million in just seven years.

And he once bashed the bookies for more than £35,000 in a single race.

In only his second year as a professional punter, he made £440,000. Now he reckons a decent day’s work  can earn him £70,000.

Ambition

Bob Rothman, 39 enjoys all the trappings of success – a Rolls-Royce, swimming pool, computers in every corner of his Leatherhead home and six secretaries to run his highly profitable tipping service.

His name has become so well-known among bookies they will only offer him the starting price on the horses he backs IF they know he is doing the backing. Should word ever leak out, the big bookies flash advance warnings to their shops: “Only take starting price bets on the 2.30 – it’s a Rothman race.”

Rothman who graduated in accountancy from Bangor University has them running scared and with good reason. He insisted: “I have one big ambition – to be the biggest punter racing has ever known.” But Rothman first got the gambling bug by backing losers.

He explained: “When I was a kid in York I saw a pro gambler called John Gough driving around in one of the first yellow E-type Jags. From that moment I dreamed of becoming a pro punter.

“When I moved to Surrey in 1985 I took up riding lessons and one day an odd-job man in the yard, Bill, told me he knew an Epsom horse called Tom Forrester who would win.

“I took two grand out of the bank and drove round 30 betting shops in two hours to get on without affecting the starting price. “But the horse finished nowhere.

“Next week Bill said: “Sorry. Back him next time and you’ll get your fiver back.” I took out a loan from American Express, piled on £2000 at 4-1 but he finished fifth.

Bug

“It was the turning point in my life, I thought I was an intelligent, rational businessman and yet I’d done four grand listening to some dick-head!

I must have been going mad.

“But I had caught the bug. I started backing big and lost £35,000 in six months.

“I decided to advertise for tips. But I received rubbish info, often three of four horses in the same race.”

The big chance came when Rothman was approached by four private handicappers – punters who compile their own handicaps in the hope of spotting good bets when the official handicaps are announced.

Rothman, married with two children, was delighted to see things turn around.

He said: “Soon I was losing less and less and by 1986 I’d turned the corner.

“In my second year I made a profit of £440,000.

“I collected £35,000 when Robin Dickin’s Jimnastics won a Hereford novice selling hurdle.

“I had two ‘monkeys’ (£500) each way just before the off and I nearly fainted when the horse was returned at 33-1. I never expected more than 16-1.

“Soon all the credit betting companies closed my accounts except Ladbrokes.

“I still use my account with them today – but only for backing the WRONG horse. That way they shorten the odds and make my REAL selection a bigger price.”

Rothman set up his own tipping service four years ago, Bob Rothman Racingand began bashing the bookies in a major way.

He said “I never advertised, just wrote to some people I knew were reliable backers.

“Soon I was doing business for trainers and getting inside information. Together with the handicapper’s view I set to clobber the bookies.

Range

“The only way I could get large sums of money on horses was to form the tipping service, using people who could place bets in a wide range of betting shops.

“I give about one horse a week, always giving my selection at the last minute. My clients have to put £50 on for me but can put on any amount for themselves.”

Rothman might be one of Britain’s most successful punters but money, rather than the love of racing is the motivation.

There is not a single picture of a horse in his house and he said “It’s a business. I’m not in love with horses.” I seldom go racing, I suppose I’ve only been to seven tracks in my life.

“And nobody knows that I’m running the most successful tipping service from my home.”

“My neighbour actually complained to the local council, with all the cars coming and going, plus my children, he thought I was running a kindergarten.!”

Betting off course, Rothman has to pay 10 per cent tax.

He said: “It makes an 11-8 shot only a 5-4 chance. But with most of the horses I bet I wouldn’t care if the tax was 50 per cent.

“I’ve got this game to a fine art. And I’m not superstitious. You make your own luck in life.”

He added, “The most I ever lost in a single horse was £8,000. Jimnastics was the most I’ve won on one bet. But I’ve won £70,000 in a day THREE times.

“The secrets are to bet within the limits of your bank but NEVER be put off by big prices.

“Value must be your guide. If I cant get the odds I want I don’t bet. But if I can get a good price I lump it on.”

How to Beat the Bookies London Irish News

Bob Rothman beats the bookies

How to beat the Bookies and buy a gold Rolls Royce

London- Irish News May 11th, 1990

For racing fans the quest for a formula to consistently beat the bookies is as elusive as the quest to make gold was for medieval alchemists.

But like some of those alchemists who devoted their whole lives to a futile pursuit of the unattainable, many punters struggle from one racing season to the next convinced that some day, somehow they are going to beat those who prey so professionally on the tempting belief that it’s possible to make lots of money quickly, easily and legally.

It’s estimated that about 5% of punters make a profit out of their gambling while the number of really professional punters is far less, somewhere in the region of a few dozen in the U.K.

Of those hardcore professionals, Wimbledon-based Bob Rothman has probably attracted the most attention for his phenomenal gambling exploits in the last four years.

Until 1986 Rothman (35) had never backed a horse. However in that year he was virtually bankrupt after his computer business folded. He needed to make money quickly, and having made respectable amounts of cash (£1,000 a month) playing backgammon he was convinced there was money to be made from backing horses.

‘Ultimate Accolade’

He was right – eventually. In his second year playing games with chance he made a £440,000 profit and received the ‘ultimate accolade”’from 25 bookies – they closed down his account.

He has letters from all the leading turf accountants to prove it, including a very humorous one from City Index: “You have today been awarded the ultimate accolade from City Index – namely that of having your account closed for being too clever for us… you have always been fair, courteous and correct. However I hate having to pay out week after week, after week after week!

How did he do it? ‘The first time I backed a horse was when a jockey gave me a hot tip. I put £2,000 on the horse and it lost. I was absolutely gutted. I had just sold a business and I was on the verge of bankruptcy. I needed to make money quickly and despite what happened with my first bet I decided to start backing horses full-time

Blackjack

As someone who had absolutely no knowledge of horses he approached racing without any of the normal precautions about gambling. ‘I built up a network of contacts among people involved in the sport, and I also got in touch with a few other professional punters.

Along with the advice I got from them I used mathematical money management techniques and gambling methods from other games like blackjack. I treated it as a business. I wasn’t emotionally involved in any way with the sport’.

In his first few months it wasn’t a very profitable business. At one stage he was £35,000 down as he tried to perfect his system, but slowly his loses began to decrease, he broke even and after about nine months began making a profit much to the surprise of his family, friends and seasoned punters who all thought Rothman was on a loser from the beginning.

The fact that it took him nine months to devise his system is a perfect illustration of what he sees as one of the main differences between ‘mug’ punters and professionals – discipline.

Rothman believes the true professional must be ‘as disciplined as a soldier with himself… he must be made of steel. Gambling is the hardest game in the world to make a living at.

The usual state of affairs is that you lose more often than you win, but when you win you get much more, so that overall all you show a profit. The professional gambler has to learn to live with disappointment without allowing it to cloud his decision making ability.

But the main reason for Rothman’s success is to do with his concept of ‘value’ betting – how to recognise value when you see it: ‘the guiding principal is deciding what the right size of bet should be on the odds available. A professional punter simply does not vet unless he has VALUE. Like an accountant he carefully weighs up the cost of his investment against its likely return. Without value you simply cannot make a long term profit from gambling’.

Money management is also vital. A professional gambler must always ensure he has adequate funds to operate i.e. avoid placing all or most of his betting bank on a loser, only to find that he has no money to back a winner the next day.

Value is backing horses at the right odds. Rothman claims that using his system you can choose the right odds to back a horse at, rather than letting the bookies choose bad value odds for you.

Even if a horse is a dead certainty to win a race, you shouldn’t back it if the odds are not right. He argues that you should always back the horse with the more favourable odds, and while you might lose money some days, the days you do win will more than compensate for a losing run.

‘Racing Success’

Rothman has published a book on his system called ‘The Racing Success System’ in which he completely explains the concept of value betting and money managements, and there are pages of formidable looking tables to help you decide what the right odds are.

The book costs £50, which sounds steep enough but when you take into account the amount of work Rothman has put into it and the fact that it’s a limited publication it seems reasonable. Perhaps the best idea is for a group of four or five would be pros to share the cost of the book between them. As well as saving money it’s the sort of book that’s easily understood when it’s discussed in a group.

So far Rothman has sold 1,500 copies of the tome which he published himself, proving that just about everything he touches these days turns the same colour as his gold Rolls Royce. But apart from that he’s not the stereotypical flamboyant gambler.

These days he’s on the blacklist of most bookies so he depends on reliable contacts to place his bets. He rarely visits a race course, and when he does it’s purely a gambling free day out. All of his business is done from an office in sleepy Wimbledon, where he gathers information over the phone. These days he employs an assistant and he calls his new business R. Rothman Offcourse Commissions.

He doesn’t guarantee success but his attitude is that if the system works for him it can work for anyone irregardless of the size of gambling bank, providing they make an effort to grasp it and follow his rules properly.

Free £10

Free £10 Bet

with Stan James

Claim your Free bet today!

It’s not a massively generous offer that’s for sure.

But this is a MUST account because bless ’em they are so slooooooooow to change their prices 🙂

You’ll find you can get 10/1 with Stan James when all the other bookies have been hammered into 5/1 and 6/1!

Apart from that Stan James is a great bookie to bet with because they offer BOG bets!

What are BOG bets?

Best Odds Guaranteed!

EG if you bet a horse and take the early price of say 4/1 and the SP is 6/1 you get the bigger price. Was worth £600 to me one day when I had £400 on at 7/2 and the sp was 5/1!

FREE £50 – Bet Fred

 FREE £50 Bet

Betfred are another of my favourite bookmakers for two reasons:

ONE: They’ve got plenty of betting shops around the country – around 750 shops, so when they’re offering a good price your not just restricted to betting on the internet.

TWO: Betfred use the Finsoft Bookmakers Betting Liability Software which has useful features for the Professional or Semi-Professional Punter who wants to get bets on quickly and not be kept hanging around while the bookie decied whether he wants to give you the bet or nor.

Opening an account with Betfred

When you open an account with Betfred bookmakers you’ll be able to immediately bet any horse to win £2,000 (sometimes £3,000) without any questions being asked simply open your Betfred account, deposit the cash and place the bet so that the total winning are £2,000 or less and it will be accepted immediately.

Facilities like this are one of the reasons I love betting with internet bookmakers like Betfred because in the old days you could be left hanging on the end of a telephone for several minutes whilst the chicken hearted bookmakers pontificated whether to take your bet or not.

WHY open an account with Betfred?

… To get a £50 Free Bet

(and up to £500 in casino bonuses!)

The first good reason to open an account with Betfred bookmakers is the healthy normal resonse of any astute investor! – getting free money!! Their current offer is a free £50 bet when you deposit or bet £50 or more with them. In the usual manner Betfred will give you a free bet equal to your first bet. So I recommend you make sure your first bet uses the whole of your bet available or you’ll waste what’s offered. In other words when the bookmakers  are offering a free bet of £50, wait until you actually want a £50 bet – don’t waste it with a piddly £10 bet otherwise you’re effectively chucking a £40 free bet down the drain.

FREE BET DETAILS

A quick word of warning Betfred, in common with other bookmakers won’t credit you with your free bet unless your selection is evens or better. However you could have a double containing two or more selections providing the accumulative odds are evens or better for example two horses at 4/7 in a double is almost the equivalent of 6/4 and so should qualify.

You have to stake at least £5 to place the bet, but as said previously its wasteful if you don’t use up the whole of the £50. However if £50 is too big a bet for you, you could open an account with one of the exchanges such as Betfair / Betdaq  and bet say £50 with Betfred getting a free £50 bet and lay off as much as you like on the exchanges to reduce your liability. In fact you could have a TOTALLY FREE bet if you wanted to be really cheeky: Bet £50 with Betfred, claim your £50 free bet, and then layoff your £50 bet on Betfair!!! (It gets even better because you can have a free bet when opening an account with Betfair – click here for more details)!

Betfred Bonuses

Betfred are famous for offering bonuses particularly on multiple bets. Now whilst I don’t recommend having multiple bets too often if you are having one, you may as well get a free bonus.

They offer a 25% bonus for all current lucky 15’s and here’s a story to bring a smile to your face:

£49,298.44 winnings for a fiver bet!

One lucky punter from Hastings, Jerry Higham won £49,298.44p for a £5 lucky 15 bet on Saturday 10th Jan 2009. The last horse in his fantastic bet was called ‘Big Fellow Thanks’ he only included it in his selections because he’s 6ft 4 and a friend had just txt him to say thanks for giving him a ticket to a football match. The 25% bonus added approx £10,000 to his winnings.

Sadly I can’t get bets on with Betfred now as is the norm with all bookmakers, my account was limited to £25 bets after I won about £100,000 off them in the space of a year but to their credit they did let me bet in thousands for 8 months before they closed me down so I cant really complain. I wish there were more bookmakers who were as brave as Betfred!

Betfred are in fact the major independent bookmakers in the UK and you may well get value betting with Betfred because they are headed by one man, Fred Done and so they can make very quick decisions and are not answerable to shareholders in the same way that some of the other big firms are.

As a result if Fred Done is entertaining at Ascot or flying down to Goodwood and for some reasons doesn’t fancy a horse, he is quite capable of picking up the phone ringing his office and instructing the traders to go the biggest price in the country for that animal! Fred Done is only human and like the rest of us makes mistakes and it is extremely enjoyable to bet a winner at enhanced odds just because he doesn’t think it can win.

Betfred are also great to bet with because until recently they had a reputation for offering prices on most races early in the morning. This did leave them vulnerable to informed punters like ourselves who might swoop on them when they had made a mistake on a horse’s price.

Recently Betfred bookmakers were engaged in a mini ‘turf war’ and were offering best prices on lots of horses as well as being the first bookmaker to price up the first races.

Sadly the big bookmakers like Hills and Lads who control most of the other betting shop outlets  in the country aren’t as brave and so we often have to wait until maybe 11am until we discover what odds they are prepared to lay.

Having an account with Betfred will be extremely helpful to you if you want to get on early and get a good price about your selection. Sadly at the moment Betfred aren’t being as brave as they used to be as they acquired a new director from William Hills who has discouraged the trade from offering such generous prices and always being first up. But who knows when that may change. They’re still always earlier then the big firms.

Anyway their £50 is as good as anyone else’s and pays for a free dinner eh?

Plus they still do offer best prices on many races and will lay a fairly decent bet. Betting a horse to win £2,000 if often more than enough for most investors and so it may not make much difference to you if they evenentually limit you to £100 bets. Open the account while they’re still making this offer, my other clients are hoping to clean them out so they may not be able to afford it soon!

FREE Horse Racing Bet Offers

Open account with Bet365 and start betting today

    • My advice? Grab this offer with both hands and open an account today before they come to their senses! The great thing is you can open the account today with no money … then have the bet when you’ve got the spare cash.  If you open the account today you get 90 days to deposit cash and make the bets!
    • Hurry though!  … as I write the £200 offer is planned to finish very soon.

Quite apart from the free bets this is a fantastic offer from Bet365.  They may not be the biggest bookmaker in the world but Bet365 are definitely my favourite internet bookie and here’s why …

  • Bet365 BOG Bets
    • BOG stands for Best Odds Guaranteed and what it means is that if you take an early price and the SP is bigger your bet will be settled at SP.
  • Bet Max Button
    •  Bet365 have a button on their wesbite which allows you to immediately know what the maximum bet is allowed. Its very quick just one click and the stake is then filled in automatically for you. It means you can place a bet with two clicks and never have to type in a stake.  Great tool when you are betting horses on which the odds are rapidly shortening! Ie most of our bets!
  • Each Way bets are allowed and you can double your stake
    • Unlike some bookmakers (Hills) Bet365 do not half your stake when betting each way. With Hills your maximum allowed bet is HALVED if you bet each way. Eg if the max bet is £100 and you bet ew you are not allowed £100 each way but just £50 each way. With Bet 365 if the maxmium win bet is £100 you can also have £100 each way.  That’s the way it should be.
  • Slow to change prices
    • Bet365 don’t change their odds as fast as some other bookies and you can sometimes get a show price that has already gone with other internet bookmakers. That is a serious advantage!!
  • Multiple bets allowed on same horse
    • This is unique to Bet365 and gets my vote as the most Punter Friendly Bookie on the internet.  As mentioned above they have a Bet Max button which typically allows you to bet a horse to win  a set amount (usually it’s £3,000 eg £600 on a 5/1 but increases to £5000 on some big handicaps) But now the horse shortens from 5/1 to 4/1. You are allowed an additional maximum bet! Bet365 are the only bookie who allow this and it shows they are gutsy. Other internet bookmakers accounts allow you one bet and then you can’t have more on. Good for you Bet365!
    • Open an Account NOW and Claim Your FREE £200!

      BET365 Special offers

        • In addition Bet365 Run regular special offers. These will only be useful occasionally if you’re betting Professionally but used judiciously you might be able to squeeze an extra £50 or £100 out of them each month! Treat these offers with care though because they are designed to get you betting in hard races or having hard-to-win multiple bets. My view is use them if you were intending having the bet anyway. But don’t try and have a bet just to fit the offerl It’s not worth it and the likehood is you’d just be giving away some of your winnings. Having said that here’s a quick run down on the Bet365 offers at the time of writing.
      • Bet365 Feature Races 4/1 winner Offer

        • The nuts and bolts of this offer from Bet365 is that that when there is no live Channel 4 Racing they will choose two of the (hardest!) races a day and nominate them “Bet365 Feature Races”
        • Then if you back a winner in the first Bet365 Feature race at odds of 4/1 or more they will give you a free bet of the same stake (up to a maximum of £50) on the next bet365 Feature Race.
        • There’s 3 “catches”
          • Because the bets are only valid for  a Bet365 Feature race you are betting in the hardest races of the day. Now that’s ok if you were already going to bet in that race but I don’t recommend having a bet in the race just to try and quailify for a free bet! Remember as Punters we can choose when we bet. Bookmakers have to offer bets in every race. That’s one of our advantages so use it wisely. If you didn’t have a genuine bet then don’t let them tempt you into one.
          • The first bet has to win at 4/1 or more. In other words you’ll won’t be betting on a red hot favourite or “cert”. On average the winning probability of horses priced at 4/1 is around 18%. Hopefully your bets in these races will do better because you’ll only have the bet if you’ve got an edge? Good information/tip/form analysis? The probability is  you’ll win less than half 50% of the time when you’re betting horses at 4/1 or biggers so these bets should be used sparingly.
          • The free bet has to be in  the next Bet365 Featured race. Easy to forget and what a shame if you do bet a 4/1 winner and then don’t claim the free bet!

Best Odds Guaranteed Example. An EXTRA £3,666.65 FREE!!!

Let me give you an example of how much money this might mean to you.

One horse we bet was called Splashdown. I recommended a 16 point win at the early price of 9/4.

I bet £100 a point so a 16 point bet is £1,600. Some of my Senior Traders do bet at this level but most clients bet maybe £5 – £20  a point until they build up their betting banks.

Imagine you’ve built up to the £100 a point level and you had attempted to place this bet with Bet365. Actually their website is programmed to allow a maximum bet that wins up to £3,000 so the maxmium bet allowed with Bet365 at 9/4 would have been  £1333.33. Ok let’s suppose you took it and had the rest elsewhere.

When Splashdown won you’d have looked forward to collecting your £3,000 winnings from Bet365. But he drifted just before the off because a couple of other horses were gambled and went off at the staggering odds of 5/1!! (by the way this rarely happens, around 85% of all the horses we bet shorten in the betting)

Under the rules of BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed) Bet365 settle this bet at 5/1 and not 9/4! Instead of winning £3,000 you win a magnificent £6,666,65, more than DOUBLING your winnings! An incredible £3,666,65 for FREE!

In case you think that was a one off the same thing happened just 4 days later. On 26th September I advised a 20 point each way bet on Laddies Poker Two at the early odds of 7/2 (it was a 1/4 the odds a place race with 4 places). The SP was a full point bigger, 9/2!

At my £100 per point that would be a two grand each way bet. Bet365 would allow you £1428.57 of that because it was a really competitive handicap and their max bet is raised to allow you to bet to win £5,000. So when Laddies Poker Two stormed home instead of collecting a juicy £5000 from Bet365 they kindly settled the bet at the SP of 9/2 and avalanched £11,418.57 into your account! A Full £1428.57 extra!

I hope I’ve convinced you this Best Odds Guaranteed is a great idea. It’s totally win win for you as the Punter. Go for it! Open your account with Bet365 and make sure you benefit if the horse drifts!

Bet365 £200 Free Bets

Oops! I got so excited about the Best Odds Guaranteed deal I almost forgot to remind you of  Bet365’s £200 Free bet offer. Along with Boylsesports it’s the most generous offer of any internet bookie. But I heard they could be reducing or even cancelling it (maybe they had their butt kicked too hard eh?) I wouldn’t be surprised if they withdraw it any day now because it’s hard to see how you can lose. Let’s face it you could open an account with them, deposit some money, take their free bet and only carry on betting if you win? Sounds like a perfect no -lose or win-win situation to me!

*Basically Bet365 match your first bet up to a maximum of £200. So obviously you want to make sure your free bet is £200 if possible. So I recommend you open the account now, deposit £200 as soon as you can (they even accept credit cards)

and then wait for a good bet to have the whole £200 on. Let’s face it they’re going to give you afree bet equal to your first bet. So might as well make it a big one! It would be a crying shame to have an initial bet of a tenner and only get £10 free.

If you don’t fancy a horse strong enough to have £200 on then hold fire with your first bet until you do. But make sure you have the account already open because while it may only take a couple of minutes to complete the process (like all internet bookmakers you have to provide proof of id etc) you’d be kicking yourself if the horse you decide to bet on is collapsing in price while you’re waiting for the account to go live. Believe me it’s happened to me several times when I’ve opened up accounts for friends and it’s really annoying to have to take say 3/1 when you could have had say 5/1 a couple of minutes earlier!

The very best idea is to open the account now and then you have it ready for the day you want to have £200 on. There’s nothing worse than seeing a good price, deciding to have a bet … and  then as you faff about opening the account, the odds shorten and it’s half the price 10 minutes later when you’re ready!

So open the account now and then when the day comes you’ll be able to shoot from the hip! Bet365 is the best ookmaker for Early Morning Odds because tehy start offering odds the night before!!! … however that means they tend to shorten theirs quite early … another reason why it’s good to “be prepared”
